Expandable Solar PV & Tesla Powerwall System

The Project

Phase One combined 16 solar panels with a Tesla Powerwall 3 and additional 13.5 kWh battery capacity, creating an integrated system for renewable electricity generation and energy storage. The underlying design was developed with future expansion in mind so additional solar panels and battery capacity could be added without replacing the original infrastructure.

Greenio designed and installed the first phase of an expandable residential solar PV and Tesla Powerwall system. From the outset, the project was planned as a flexible home-energy solution that could grow over time rather than a fixed, one-off installation.

The Customer

Greenio therefore approached the project in phases. The initial solar PV and Tesla battery installation provided a strong starting point while preserving the ability to expand. Following the success of the first phase, the customer chose Greenio to return and increase both the solar array and battery-storage capacity.

The homeowner wanted to generate renewable electricity and store substantial amounts of energy for later use, but also wanted the freedom to increase the system as future requirements became clearer.

The Customer Said...

I wanted to do this in stages rather than commit to the final size of the system on day one. Greenio planned it so the first installation could be expanded without starting again, and that flexibility is exactly why I’ve gone ahead with the next phase.

Where Are They Now

The next stage of the project is planned to add 12 further solar panels and another 13.5 kWh of battery capacity. Once completed, the property will have 28 solar panels alongside significantly increased home battery storage.

Rather than removing or replacing the original system, the additional equipment will build on the existing renewable energy infrastructure. The project demonstrates the benefit of designing residential solar and battery systems for long-term flexibility, allowing homeowners to increase generation and storage as their energy needs develop.
