The Government is currently developing the use of Power Purchase Agreements for schools and colleges, with the Department for Education piloting privately financed solar installations in England.
Under the PPA model being piloted, the private-sector provider finances, installs and maintains the solar panels, while the education provider purchases the electricity generated under an agreed arrangement.
